Highs and lows of racing felt in two-day rollercoaster

Highs and lows of racing felt in two-day rollercoaster

Cade Dillard and the No. 97 Snickers machine were back in action this past Friday and Saturday, Aug. 21-22, for another Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s Cup doubleheader in Kansas and Oklahoma.

On Friday, the series invaded the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan. Fresh off his announcement of a new team for 2016 and a new Hughes Racing Chassis underneath him for the remainder of the season, Dillard came into the event on a high. But things quickly were subdued when a blown engine in his heat race ended his night early.

Saturday's event at the Salina Highbanks Speedway in Pryor Creek, Okla., was rained out. The next show for the USMTS  will happen Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Hamilton County Speedway in Webster City, Iowa—the first of five straight nights of racing to celebrate the Labor Day Weekend.
