Dillard posts 17th at King of America VI

A strong two days of qualifying for Cade Dillard culminated with a seventh starting position in King of America VI presented by Chix Gear on Saturday, April 2, at the Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan.

After throwing out his worst of four efforts in the first round of qualifying, Cade bounced back to run from seventh to second in his second round qualifying effort on Thursday. In round 3 on Friday, he roared from 11th on the grid to finish fifth, and his fourth and final heat race saw him take the win in dominating fashion.

Saturday's 72-lap, $12,000-to-win main event started off with Cade battling near the top five for the first half of the race, but as the race wore on so did his right rear tire. He slipped to seventh on lap 46 and then to eighth four laps later. Eventually, he was able to hang on to an ill-handling race car to wrap up the weekend with a 17th-place finish and a $1,120 payday.
