Cade Dillard didn't let Mother Nature shorten his weekend. After a pair of USMTS events in Minnesota Thursday and Friday, Saturday's show was rained out at the Viking Speedway. So Dillard and his #97 S&S Fishing & Rental team headed south for a pair of USRA Modified shows in Missouri and Kansas.
On Thursday at the Ogilvie Raceway, Dillard raced to a third-place finish in the 42-lap USMTS main event, and then backed that up with a seventh on Friday at the I-94 Raceway in Fergus Falls, Minn.
With Saturday's show canceled, the team trucked down to Wheatland, Mo., to the Lucas Oil Speedway. After starting 18th on the grid, Dillard drove through the field to score a third-place finish.
Friday's show was rained out at the Humboldt Speedway, so the track decided to race on Sunday and Dillard stopped by to turn some laps at 'The Hummer.' In the end, he picked up the feature win to cap a great weekend.
Not too far away from Humboldt, the team will return to USMTS action for the first of four straight nights on Thursday, May 19, at the 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan. On Friday, it's on to the Outlaw Motor Speedway near Muskogee, Okla., and then Saturday the series invades the Salina Highbanks Speedway. The week wraps up on Sunday at the Longdale Speedway in Longdale, Okla.
