Duvall takes on USMTS Southern Series, finishes eighth in Double H Bands Southern Region points

Joe Duvall and the No. 91 Duvall Electric/Trucks Unlimited team joined the USMTS Casey’s Cup Series powered by S&S Fishing & Rental as they competed in eight events over the course ten days during the annual USMTS Southern Speedweek. Action kicked off on Thursday, June 18, at the 81 Speedway located just outside of Wichita, Kan., and wrapped up Saturday, June 27, at the Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla. Here's a recap of Big Daddy's results during the swing:

Thursday, June 18 - 81 Speedway, Park City, Kan.: Started fifth and finished fourth in the fifth heat race; Started fifth and finished first in the first Real Racing Wheels "B" Main; Started 13th and finished sixth in the 40-lap "A" Main; Earned a contingency award from Fuel Safe.

Friday, June 19 - Red River Speedway, Wichita Falls, Texas: Started eighth and finished second in the second heat race; Redrew seventh for the start of the 40-lap "A" Main and finished tenth; Earned a contingency award from Keyser Manufacturing.

Saturday, June 20 - Route 66 Motor Speedway, Amarillo, Texas: Started second and finished third in the fifth heat race; Started second and won the second Real Racing Wheels "B" Main; Started 14th and finished eighth in the 40-lap "A" Main after going to the back of the field on lap 14; Earned a contingency award from Allstar Performance.

Tuesday, June 23 - Heart O’ Texas Speedway, Elm Mott, Texas: Started eighth and finished fourth in the fourth heat race; Started 12th and finished 22nd (DNF) in the 40-lap "A" Main.

Wednesday, June 24 - Devil’s Bowl Speedway, Mesquite, Texas: Started fifth and finished third in the second heat race; Started 11th and finished sixth in the 30-lap "A" Main; Earned a contingency award from Fuel Safe.

Thursday, June 25 - East Texas Speedway, Petty, Texas: Started eighth and finished fourth in the first heat race; Started 11th and finished 15th in the 40-lap "A" Main; Earned a contingency award from FK Rod Ends.

Friday, June 26 - Southern Oklahoma Speedway, Ardmore, Okla.: Started eighth and finished sixth in the third heat race; Started seventh and finished fourth in the second Real Racing Wheels "B" Main; Started 20th and finished 19th (DNF) in the 40-lap "A" Main; Earned a contingency award from Forty9 Designs.

Saturday, June 27 - Lawton Speedway, Lawton, Okla.: Started fourth and finished third in the first heat race; Started 11th and finished tenth in the 40-lap "A' Main; Earned a contingency award from Keyser Manufacturing.

After eight events, Duvall finished up the Double H Bands Southern Region presented by Day Motor Sports with an eighth-place finish in the final standings, and punched his ticket to compete for the USMTS National Championship in The Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental which begins Thursday, Aug. 6, at the 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan.
