Joe Duvall and the No. 91 AMP Energy crew competed in a tripleheader this past weekend as part of the Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental. On Thursday, the action took place at the Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, Wis., where 'Big Daddy' survived a wet and rough racetrack to register a solid ninth-place finish.
On Friday, the series traveled to the Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., where both Duvall and crew chief/veteran racer Scott Drake circled the high-banked clay oval. Both qualified for the 40-lap main event through a Real Racing Wheels "B" Main with Duvall scoring a 16th-place finish and Drake close behind in 18th.
On Saturday, the squadron headed a few more hours north to the Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, Minn., for some more USMTS action. Both Duvall and Drake raced again, but only Duvall got a shot at the 40-lap feature by virtue of a provisional starting spot. He made the most of it, racing from 23rd to 15th at the finish.
Next week take sthe team to the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., on Friday, Aug. 21, and then back to Duvall's home track at the Salina Highbanks Speedway in Pryor Creek, Okla., on Saturday, Aug. 22.
