Joe Duvall, crew chief Scott Drake and the rest of the traveling speed circus loaded the hauler with race cars and parts, and loaded the coolers with AMP Energy drink, then headed north for five days of USMTS racing over the Labor Day Weekend.

Things got started on Wednesday at the Hamilton County Speedway in Webster City, Iowa, where Duvall started and finished fourth in his stacked heat race, and then started and finished 12th in the 30-lap main event.

On Thursday, the team traveled to the big half-mile dirt oval at the Fairmont Raceway in Fairmont, Minn., for another round of racing in the Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental. Despite a rough-and-tumble night, Duvall registered a 13th-place finish after passing six cars from his 19th starting position.

Friday found the No. 91 MB Customs machine in Lansing, Minn., at the Chateau Raceway. A solid second-place finish in his heat race got Duvall into the redraw where he selected the fifth starting spot. At the end of the 40-lapper, he garnered a solid ninth-place finish.

The Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., has always been a good fit for the driving style of 'Big Daddy' and this Saturday night was no different. After a spirited battle with Brent Larson in his heat race, Duvall took second to get himself in the redraw for the 40-lap feature. He drew the sixth starting spot but quickly made his presence known at the front of the field. After running with the leaders from start to finish, he notched his first top-five finish of The Hunt as he finished fifth while holding off Rodney Sanders and Stormy Scott at the checkers.

The team closed the curtain on the Labor Day Weekend on Sunday at the Cresco Speedway in Cresco, Iowa. A quick show was in store for the fans and drivers as the event promoters tried to beat the impending rain. Duvall started tenth on the field and raced his way to an eighth-place finish when he crossed the finish line.

In the points battle, Duvall currently rides in eighth. He is just 27 points behind Brent Larson and just one marker ahead of Johnny Scott and 18 in front of Cade Dillard. The last race in the Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental comes down to the first night of the 17th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree at the Deer Creek Speedway on Thursday, Sept. 24.
