Season ends with ninth in Oklahoma, rain in Louisiana

A four-race week to close out the 2015 season turned into a solo effort at the Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore, Okla., on Tuesday after rain forced the cancellation of the 9th Annual USMTS Winter Nationals at the Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, La., on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

After finishing second in his heat race Tuesday, Joe Duvall wheeled his No. 91 MB Customs machine to a ninth-place finish in the USMTS main event. 'Big Daddy' earned a contingency award from KEVKO Oil Pans & Components for his effort.

Heavy rain throughout the week had already deluged the Shreveport, La., region and an early evening shower forced the cancellation of opening night at the 9th Annual USMTS Winter Nationals on Thursday. With more rain falling on the high-banked 3/8-mile clay oval at Ark-La-Tex Speedway during the night, track and USMTS officials were forced to pull the plug on the remainder of the weekend festivities.

Following trade show season between now and the end of the calendar year, the USMTS awards banquet will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, Mo. In addition to drivers, crew members, track officials and sponsors, fans are invited to take part in the festivities as well.

The ceremony will once again be a joint effort for both the USMTS and United States Racing Association (USRA). For complete results or to learn more about the USMTS visit www.usmts.com online.
