Solid start to Hunt for the Casey's Cup

The Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental headed to the Heartland of America Aug. 4-7, for the start of the championship chase. Debuting the new AMP Energy livery, at the Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Mo., on Thursday, Joe started and finished fourth in his heat race. After winning his "B" Main, he started 14th in the "A" Main and finished 11th.

On Friday, the series traveled back to the Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan., where Joe started seventh and finished third in his heat race. He started 10th and finished 11th in the "A" Main.

Saturday found the Club 91 team at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., for the 7th Annual Lucas Slick Mist Show-Me Shootout. Joe started ninth and finished fifth in his heat race. In the "B" Main, he started third and finished fifth, grabbing the final transfer spot into the main event. In the "A" Main, he started 21st and finished 14th.

Sunday's event at the Monett Speedway in Monett, Mo., was rained out. After three events, 'Big Daddy' sits eighth in the points standings.

Up next, The Hunt embarks on a five-night, five-track swing through Wisconsin, Minnesota and Northern Iowa this Wednesday-Sunday, Aug. 10-14. All three events will carry a $3,000 top prize with a minimum of $250 to start the Casey’s General Stores “A” Main each night.
