Lucas Schott raced with the United States Modified Touring Series this past weekend as the series kicked off the RealTruck.com Northern Region presented by Day Motor Sports.
Thursday night at the Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, Minn., Schott dominated his heat race, turning the fastest lap of the night for the 48 entrants, which set him up in the redraw for the main event. In the 42-lap feature race, he drew the eighth starting spot and worked his way up to sixth by the time the checkered flags waved.
Friday took the team to the I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minn. A second-place finish in his heat race locked "Cool Hand Luke" into the ninth starting spot for the "A" Main, eventually dropping to 15th at the finish.

Up next is a three-race weekend, May 20-21. On Friday, the team will be at the Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., and Saturday takes them to the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn. The weekend wraps up on Sunday for the season-opening event at the new Mason City Motor Speedway in Mason City, Iowa.
