Schott tops Mason City Modifieds

USRA Modified driver Lucas Schott won his first United States Modified Touring Series race of the year Friday in Lansing, Minn.

Two nights later he had plenty of speed left in the tank, blistering the 20-car field on his way to a feature win at the Mason City Motor Speedway.

Schott, who recently turned 20, lapped up to 11th place, easily beating Ryan Ruter and Josh Angst to the finish.

“I’m definitely more confident that we can perform,” Schott said. “You have to have some luck, and I’ve had that this weekend.”
