 Friday went from 8th to 5th in heat, 7th to 2nd in "B" Main, and 17th to 8th in "A" Main. Saturday's feature was rained out and was run Sunday with Luke finishing fourth. Later on Sunday, Luke was unable to finish the main event and wound up 22nd.

 Luke kicked off the 2017 racing season at the Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, N.M., for the inaugural Short Track Shootout. Driving a new USRA Modified for Sherman Barnett, Luke ended the weekend with three top-10 finishes including a sixth on Friday. Next up is the King of America VII, March 23-25, at the Humboldt Speedway where the team will break out the #69 MBCustom for the first time this year.

 Piloting Mike Wedelstadt's sharp-looking MB Customs modified, after two heat races on Friday, Luke was 32nd in points. On Saturday, he advanced to the main event in his non-qualifiers race, but a flat tire in the feature sidelined him with a 28th-place finish.

 Lucas started and finished 2nd in his heat race, which put him 9th on the starting grid for the 40-lap "A" Main. After battling to get to the front, he finished a close 4th behind Ryan Gustin, Zack VanderBeek and Cade Dillard.

 Lucas started 4th and finished 2nd in his heat race. In the main event, he drew the 6th starting spot but got caught up in a skirmish during the race and had to tag the rear of the field. He came back to finish 13th.

 After a 4th place finish in his heat race, Luke redrew the pole for the 25-lap feature. He led the first lap but Jason Cummins got by and led the rest of the way with Luke taking runner-up honors.

 Returning to Lakeside Speedway to defend his title, Luke earned his way into the main event by racing from 10th to third in his heat race. In the 42-lap feature, He battled his way to the front, eventually settling for the runner-up paycheck behind winner Rodney Sanders.

 Lucas Schott and his team competed in the 19th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree at the Deer Creek Speedway, Sept. 21-23, with nearly 100 of the nation's top Modified drivers in attendance. Luke got things going on Thursday with an impressive run from 19th on the starting grid to second in his heat race, putting him in the redraw for the USMTS Hunt for the Casey's Cup finale. After drawing the second starting spot, Luke battled with the leaders for the entire 40 laps, eventually finishing third. On Friday, "Cool Hand Luke" was once again a force to be reckoned with. After winning his heat race, he started third in the 40-lap feature and claimed a runner-up finish behind Ryan Gustin. The draw was not as kind to the the team on Saturday as Luke had to start 13th in a strong field, but worked his way into a seventh-place finish. After starting fifth in his B-Main, he powered to a win to set himself up with the 19th starting spot in the 50-lap, $13,000-to-win main event. Although never in serious contention for the victory, Luke battled door to door with the best in the business and came away with a seventh-place finish to bring his total weekend earnings to $6,800.
